Even though I love all the sub genres of Drum & Bass, here are my top 5:

1. Intelligent Drum & Bass - The music typically has a very atmospheric or ambient quality, with washes of synthesised pads, and deep sub-bass. Best chill out music EVER!!!!!

2. Dark Core - Very low frequency bass lines. Relies more on simple effects such as reverb, delay, pitch shifting and time stretching to create a chaotic and sinister mood.

3. Liquid Funk - Contains fewer bar-oriented samples and more instrumental layers (both synthesized and natural), harmonies, and ambience, producing a calmer atmosphere.

4. Jazz Step - A typical tune from this genre is characterized by brass arrangements, acoustic instruments, jazz scales, and jazz rhythms.

5. Dark Step - Today's equivalent of Dark Core with highly energetic breakbeats
